Black and white portrait of fine art photographer Kenn Costanzo in formal attire

KENN COSTANZO

Fine Art Photographer | San Francisco

Kenn Costanzo is a Bay Area–based photographer known for striking black-and-white images that portray the stillness hidden in urban spaces, capturing something extraordinary in scenes of the everyday.

Costanzo's minimalist aesthetic and precise eye for composition have earned him selection into competitive juried exhibitions, including “Black and White Captures of the World” in Los Angeles (2025) and “Streets Sans Frontières” in Paris (2023), alongside “Fall” in San Francisco (2020). His 2025 solo exhibition “Monochrome: Stories of Shadow and Light,” presented at Lindsay Dirkx-Brown Gallery in San Ramon, California, further established his voice as a contemporary black-and-white photographer, following his 2024 solo debut, “Street Vision.” That same year, his work earned the People’s Vote Award in the “Street” category at the reFocus Awards in New York. His photographs have also been featured in The Art of Strideby (Almalusa Publishing, 2022).

Costanzo is represented by Studio Seven Arts Gallery in Pleasanton, California, where his fine art prints are available for collectors.

My photographs capture urban solitude, the relationship between people and how they exist within an urban space.

That's the story; when the familiar becomes extraordinary....

Working exclusively in black and white, I envision each scene in its essential elements of light, shadow, line, and form. Architecture becomes my canvas that shapes the mood, and I search for light that transforms an ordinary street or building facade into something cinematic. That's the story: when the familiar becomes extraordinary by capturing that drama.
